Device codes are 6-8 numbers separated by a hyphen:

00-0000
000-0000
0000-0000

To find the device code on your iPad:

Open Settings
Tap General
Tap About
Look at the Name field

Example device name:

POS - 000-0000 - My Community

In this case the device code would be 000-0000
